On March 23, 2013 MFAS had their grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at their newest location in Vietnam Town, San Jose. Their guest list is quite impressive.
The Vietnamese Jewelry Association (Hội Kim Hoàn) celebrated their 34th anniversary at Dynasty Restaurant in San Jose, CA on March 15th, 2013. More than 800 people attended this illustrious event.
Months went into planning this special event. On March 15th, 2013 Mr. An Vu (called “chu An” by many of the girls) unexpectedly walked into his surprise birthday party at Oryza Bistro located at Valley Fair Mall in San Jose, CA.
“Be a voice and stop child sex slavery.” That is the motto that resonates among the One Body Village organization, a non-profit group, led by Father Martino Nguyen that aims to stop children sex trafficking in Cambodia.

Local high school students with a valid Student ID were invited to choose a new or gently used prom dress of their choice for FREE. Operation Prom dress distribution was held on Sunday March 10, 2013 at the Seven Trees Community Center. No sign-ups were needed, and quantities were limited, so it was best to come early. There were over a 1,000 dresses to give away. Free dry cleaning was offered, and students even entered a raffle for hair and make-up sessions with local beauty salons. Refreshments and snacks were provided.
It was a sold out show at the Miss Vietnam of Northern California Pageant. People from around Bay purchased their tickets in advance hoping to get a glimpse of the contestants and winners in person. Check out coverage from the event.
