Starting April 21, 2013, Oryza Bistro Asiana restaurant located inside the Valley Fair Mall is going to have brunch every Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. For just $11 you can get unlimited brunch mimosas.
The restaurant feature outdoor patio seating for those who wants fresh air, a wine/beer bar for those with refined taste, and a DJ for those who just wants to jam while they eat. Life is short, so why not make it even sweeter by enjoying all three at the same time while satisfying your appetite. Then afterwards, you can burn off calories by walking (or shopping) in the mall.
Did you know? This San Jose local business is family owned and operated. The owner, John Tran, is Vietnamese and his mother helps out in the kitchen. You know food taste even better when it’s cooked by mom.
When it comes to supporting local businesses, the pageant is alway there to help. The ladies from the Miss Vietnam or Northern California pageant were there to help promote the new brunch menu. John Tran, the owner had asked one of his good friends and also our A-Hau I 2012, Lauren Bich Dao, to invite her pageant sisters. The girls who arrived were invited to free food, music and drinks. They were even given red envelopes for good luck. Below were the ladies who made an appearance in the order than you see in the above picture.
Lauren Bich Dao (A-Hau I 2012)
Nancee Pham (A-Hau Than Thien 2012)
Le Tran (A-Hau III 2012)

Que Huong Radio was in the kitchen filming and reporting.
The owner’s mother is sharing some tips on making great “banh xeo”.
Que Huong Radio sent their camera man and super hot reporter, Lauren Bich Dao, into the kitchen of Oryza Restaurant. It can’t get any hotter than this!
Don’t get these confused with omelets, because they are not eggs. These are a classic Vietnamese crepe called “Banh Xeo”. Traditionally they are eaten with an abundance of diferent leafy green vegetables and prepared fish sauce.
Meet my two Desserts and Marinade. Actually Lauren Dao, Le Tran and Nancee Pham are just standing front of a labeled refrigerator.
Sandy Nguyen and Lynn Tran just arrived. They got there in time to do a taste test. Great timing guys!
Le Tran and Nancee Pham watched one of other employees as he prepared Lemon Grass creme brulee.
These ladies are about to enjoy creme brulee with a hint of lemon grass, which is Oryza’s own unique twist on a classic French dessert.
The owner’s friends and family came to support today’s event.
His name must be Gino because it says so on his laptop.
The owner and his two young princesses.
The owner’s two beautiful daughters. They even have their own princess tiaras and their poses down! So cute and so fierce!
From left to right: Nancee Pham, Le Tran, Sandy Nguyen and Lynn Tran.
Lauren Bich Dao joins the bunch. She’s the one in blue.
Awhhh…the love!
Le Tran and Nancee Pham pose in front of the restaurant inside the Mall. They are holding the New Sunday Brunch Oryza flyer.
The beautiful Lauren Dao with her big bright smile and super cute dimples. Whatever she is selling I am buying two of.
The youngest princess at the table.
Smoked salmon! My favorite!
There was something in the dressing that made this salad so addicting…bacon?
Ahhh…The Lychee Mint Soda. Like the name implies this refreshing drink has lychee juice infused with crushed fresh mint leaves. Since it doesn’t contain alcohol, it’s both children and commuter friendly.
Here we are demonstrating that sharing is always caring. This is the Shrimp Garlic Noodles. Someone sure cared enough to leave two giant prawns on the plate.
Poor Lynn Tran was stuck sitting half way in the sun, but at least she was good sport about it and kept a nice smile.
Le Tran and Nancee Pham cheer with glasses of water.
OMG…These ladies are such followers. One person orders the Lychee Mint drink and the next thing you know everyone wants one. I don’t blame them. The drink does taste as good as it looks. Here, Sandy, Lauren and Lynn cheers to good food, nice outdoor sitting area, and great company! Until next time! It was definitely fun having out with you girls.
