Hội Kim Hoàn 2013 (The Vietnamese Jewelry Association) held its 34th annual celebration at the Dynasty Restaurant in San Jose, CA on March 15th, 2013. More than 800 people attended this elegant evening which, consisted of an 8-course seafood family-style dinner, live entertainment, wine tasting, dancing, raffles, and prizes. Jewelers from around the Bay Area seized this opportunity to meet, mingle, and network. It was the perfect occasion for the swanky business owners to showcase their products by being their own gorgeous model.
Victor Wang, owner of Victory Jewelry, and his associates planned this event months in advance. Every year, the members of the Association seek their yearly blessings from the Ancestors, the pioneers in the jewelry profession. They showed their respect by lighting incense and praying before the alter. Not only did they expressed their gratitude for the invaluable skills and knowledge that were handed down to them, but also for a prosperous future. After 34 years of honoring the forefathers through celebration, this ritual has become its own distinguished annual tradition.
The Hoa-Hau Ao-Dai 2013 (Miss Vietnam of Northern California) and court were certainly there to help. Victor had personally invited them, along with Queenie Huyen Tran (pageant ambassador and producer). The ladies were given opportunity to help raise money for the association by assisting in raffle ticket sales. They walked to every table, meeting and greeting every single guest. Who wouldn’t want to buy a raffle ticket from a pretty lady? If you were lucky, you could have won a big screen TV, cash, jewelry and other fine gifts.
